The name means "Hooting Owl' and has deep ties into Volterrs.

GRAPE VARIETY: Vintner’s single variety selection of the year. The 2008 vintage is 100% MERLOT

COLOR: ruby & purple-tinged

AGEING: aged for 20 months in French oak barrels

REFINEMENT: 12 months in bottle. Released only when deemed ready.

AGEING CAPABILITY: 10 years. 

BOUQUET / FLAVOR: intense aromas of sweet blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with licorice and graphite notes. Polished and deep, pure and medium to full-bodied, with a wonderful texture and core of ripe fruit and velvety tannins. Enters the mouth bright and compact, then picks up considerable weight with air, showcasing underbrush flavors of noteworthy intensity and purity. The tannins are present and firm giving the wine focus and precision to balance the wine’s opulent richness. It is undoubtedly one of the great expressions of the Monterosola's 'BIg Reds'

SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18°C (64°F). It is advised to decant it at least 1.5 hr before drinking.

FOOD COMBINATION: It is an excellent red wine, fairly versatile when it comes to food pairing options: roast poultry, roast lamb, beef stews, pork, duck with fruit sauce, hearty pasta dish. For cheeses, try gouda, cheddar, smoked provolone.

COLOR: opaque purple color

AGEING: aged for 20 months in French oak barriques

REFINEMENT: 12 months in bottle. Released only when deemed ready.

AGEING CAPABILITY: 10 years. 

BOUQUET / FLAVOR: robust wine with a smooth texture and signature aromas of spice, pepper, clove and licorice leading, followed by dark fruit such as blackcurrant, plum and black cherry, as well as truffle, cedar, earth and leather. The nose is characterized by rich and fully ripe fruit yet without any traces of over ripeness, focused and intense with spicy and mineral notes. On the palate the wine is remarkably dense, concentrated and opulent, with pure expression of fruit. Full-bodied, with fabulous richness, texture and tremendous freshness
